Locate the Paper Jam

Turn Off the Printer
Power off your printer and unplug it from the power source. This prevents any moving parts from activating while you work.
Open Access Panels
Open all access doors and panels to locate the jammed paper. Check the input tray, output area, and any duplexer access points.
Remove Paper Gently
Grasp the paper firmly but gently, and pull it out in the direction of the paper path. Never pull against the feed direction.
Check for Torn Pieces
